British Land - Canada Water Masterplan

GoodPeople is working in partnership with British Land to deliver a local employability initiative across the Canada Water Masterplan assets in North Southwark.

The pilot will form a basis of work and understanding to inform the future socio-economic legacy strategy at Canada Water. The GoodPeople service sits under the British Land Bright Lights umbrella, branded as a GoodPeople service.

We‘re working with employers and contractors at Printworks, Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and Leisure Park to promote the value of sustainable local employment and skills development in the community - offering jobs, work placements and employability skills interventions to school children, young people and adults. We have a specific focus on identifying and supporting local unemployed people into sustainable work with good employers in the area and beyond.

More broadly we’re excited to be teaming up with other fantastic organisations supported by British Land - Global Generation and Time & Talents - to engage residents of all ages, with a wide range of different needs, to participate in "soft landing" activities in the heart of the community.  By increasing self confidence, self esteem and resilience, and building other employability skills, residents can move onto enterprise training with Tree Shepherd  and / or sustainable employment with GoodPeople's support.
