DWP Flexible Support Fund Programme

The DWP’s Flexible Support Fund (FSF) provides resource to specialist organisations to addresses barriers to work for long term unemployed people.

We successfully delivered three GoodPeople FSF Programmes from 2015 to 2107.  These were resourced by the Flexible Support Fund partnership in South London Jobcentre Plus, and operated in partnership with the London Borough of Lambeth and Community Southwark.

We worked with employers to understands their needs, and analysed the barriers to work faced by candidates. We designed the right interventions and support systems to overcome these - providing one-to-one support with employer-specific interview preparation and confidence building sessions.

The result - we outperformed all three project forecasts, delivering 300 programme starts and 103 validated job starts (more than the agreed combined target) in 15 months - 18 months early.  We are proud to have assisted hundreds of unemployed people with a wide range of barriers into sustainable employment with our employer clients across a range of industry sectors. These included Primark, Hilton and Tiffany & Co.
